DESCRIPTION:Rolling Meadows to Observe Memorial Day Early Memorial Day Parade - Saturday\, May 24The city will conduct a Memorial Day parade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday\, May 24.Parade route to start from the corner of Kirchoff and Meadow Drive\, the parade will continue west on Kirchoff to the Carillon Tower. Following the parade\, there will be an 11:30 a.m. ceremony at the Carillon Tower. Rolling Meadows Mayor Ken Nelson will lead city officials and dignitaries in a wreath laying at the base of Carillon Veterans Monument. Local veterans are encouraged to participate. If walking that distance is holding you back from participating\, be assured that the city will provide transportation for you. Family members are welcome to march in honor of deceased veterans or those who are unable to participate. You may carry photos\, posters or other mementos of your loved one. The Rolling Meadows Veterans Committee has your name on file\, if you have participated in this event before. If you have not participated before\, give Assistant City Manager Barry Krumstok a call (847) 398-8500\, ext. 3011. He'll be glad to hear from you and we'll all be glad to acknowledge your service.
