Mayor Ken Nelson and city officials join Wal Mart to celebrate the renovated store, part of a national program to make shopping in the stores a more pleasant experience.
Company officials said the design incorporates a new layout, wider aisles, low-profile shelving, enhanced lighting and easy-to-read signs.
The wider aisles will be free of product displays to make it easier to move around the store. Among the layout changes was aligning departments customers shop most frequently. “The new layout is customer-friendly and easier to navigate, which will save our customers time as they shop for necessities,” store manager Chris Quinn said.
Among other changes, the store has an expanded frozen food department, and expanded electronics and home entertainment sections.
